Our Lady of Grace and the York Catholic District School Board are proud to celebrate Black History throughout the month of February and beyond. During Black History Month students will learn about Black history and experiences through a variety of classroom learning activities that explore the significant contributions that people of African descent have made throughout history and continue to make today. It is also an opportunity to recognize forms of anti-Black racism in our world and challenge the negative stereotypes and oppression that exist within it.
This past week our classes participated in various mental health activities. We recognize the importance of our students’ mental health. If you have any concerns regarding your child during this closure period, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s classroom teacher, the principal and/or the family doctor.
Please note that Monday, February 1 is a Professional Activity Day. On this day the teachers will be learning about the new Mathematics curriculum and coding.
Families looking for Technical Support during remote online learning are encouraged to the YCDSB Call Centre website http://help.ycdsb.ca/vle.
Virtue of the Month: Wisdom
