We have successfully completed our first week of remote learning. Students and teachers were able to pivot quite seamlessly to the remote environment. We thank you all for being integral partners in your child’s education. This year, more than ever, we have had to rely on the support of others. Our partnership has made it possible for us to navigate through these troubled waters. Please continue to let your child’s teacher know if there are any academic or social/emotional concerns with your child so that we can figure out the best course of action for them. Have a wonderful week everyone.
Recent Covid Cases: As you have already been informed, there were a few positive cases reported at OLG during the last week of face to face learning. Due to the fact that public health determined the spread occured at the school, we were declared an outbreak school. We have now been cleared as the period of transmissibility ended on April 23rd.
Student Expectations: It is expected that your child is online and follows their teacher’s schedule. School begins daily at 8:30 am. Each child is expected to fulfill the curriculum expectations taught by their teachers (unless otherwise indicated by a child’s IEP). Students also need to abide by the virtual classroom rules. Any behaviour that disrupts the learning environment will not be tolerated and the student may be removed from the class for that session. It is advised that you periodically check in with your child throughout the day.
Student Absences: If your child is absent, please continue to call in their absence.
Kindergarten Registrations: If you or anyone you know is looking to register their child for the 2021-2022 school year, registration is open. Register online at www.ycdsb.ca/admissions/
